It's officially the hottest part of the summer, July! This time of year brings it own set of skincare concerns, so I put together 8 Summer Skincare Tips for you!
8 Summer Skincare Tips
- Wear sunscreen daily. Like every day. All day long. Most skin damage happens while we're driving around town running errands or checking the mail. All the sun exposure adds up and leads to sun damage, so just add it to your skincare routine and wear it every day.
- Apply that moisturizer. Even though we're sweating more and it seems like our skin is getting enough, don't skimp on the moisturizer. If anything, picking a lighter moisturizer or a BB cream with spf to eliminate a step!
- Lighten up the makeup. Light coverage is best for summer so that your skin can breath and you don't feel like your makeup is melting off your face.
- Try makeup with SPF. I recommend mixing equal parts facial sunscreen, bronzing lotion and concealer to apply on your skin for a light coverage that protects!
- Exfoliate once or twice a week. In the winter, we exfoliate more often because our skin is dry and needs the extra attention. In the summer, we can
- Use a bronzer for a healthy glow. A bronzing lotion will add shimmer and glow to your skin. A moisturizing bronzing lotion can also be mixed with a body sunscreen to a give you a full body glow and sun protection.
- Wear big hats and sun protection clothing. When the sun is the hottest (10am to 2pm) making sure that if you have to be out during that time, stay in the shade or wear protective accessories.
- Wash your face! Now is not the time to skip the facial cleansing. With all the extra time outdoors, campfires and bug spray, it's really important to to cleanse your face consistently twice a day.
