I just began my 5th year in Direct Sales! There have been highs and there have been lows, but each has taught me more about me and this business. There's so many, but these are the top 7 Things I Learned Since I Joining LimeLife by Alcone. If you'd like to connect, shoot me a message!
After the initial excitement, Direct sales can often feel overwhelming. For my, I spent 3 years with a jewelry company and while I loved the product and the people, the company closed and I had to move on. Shortly after, I joined LimeLife by Alcone. The skincare and makeup line helped me to reconnect with my cosmetology experience while also providing me with a product that wasn't just one purchase. The customers I would serve would require help and refills of products. Also, this was the first brand that I found to actually match my skin tone! I have learned a lot in the last year about myself and direct sales.
7 Things I Learned Since I Joined LimeLife by Alcone
- Your reap what you sow. If you don't work, neither does this business. Direct sales isn't for people who are not ready to put in the time. It takes an amount of work to find your ideal customers and know your own products. If you don't work, it just won't work.

- Progress is better than perfection. It takes time to know what to do and how to do it. Don't expect perfection your first try and it's okay to ask for help!

- Be yourself! Getting ideas from other consultants is one thing, be inspired! However, copying them or taking their ideas is not right. Plus, your community will never get to know the real you if you're not showing them who that is. They can shop with anyone, but they choose to shop with you because of who you are, let them know about you!

- Do you own research. If you aren't with a direct sales company yet, know that it's okay to "shop around" and ask questions. This will hopefully be a long term relationship so it's important to know who you'll be working with. Here's a list of great questions to ask when searching for a direct sales company!

- This is your business, work it your way. As always, stay within your compliance rules, but beyond that, just because "she" is doing it doesn't mean you have to. Within LimeLife we all work our business when and how it works for us. Some are full-time, some are part-time and some are "when I have the time"! Being authentic and relatable is so valuable in this business.

- Get to know your product. Some people are successful in their Direct Sales business without owning many of their company's products and I would never tell you to buy them all. But if you don't know what you're selling, how can you recommend the right product to your customer? If you are looking for reviews on a product but can't try it for yourself, ask a fellow consultant. I have a group chat with my up-line and side-line that I often bounce ideas off of or ask them questions. I also am part of a coaching group that has helped me with more direct sales questions that ever!

- Have fun! Your community will know if you aren't enjoying what you're doing. No one wants to hang out with someone who isn't enjoying their work. If you've picked the right company and upline for you, you'll have no issues enjoying yourself. And if you're not, maybe it's time for a change.
